Old and new together

The SCGJA provides a bridge between grand juries. Because each grand jury is a separate confidential investigative body with its own procedures, it can feel like reinventing the wheel year after year. We help guide new jurors by suggesting policies and procedures with past success, coordinating and sponsoring the same training sessions each year, and providing boilerplate templates for reports.

The SCGJA also stands as a platform to highlight grand jury reports and their subsequent responses. Reports that receive significant local media coverage and/or spur drastic change can be submitted to the CGJA for consideration for recognition and awards.
