L to R: Craig Perry (2015/16 Shasta County Grand Jury Foreperson), Jenny Espino (Local News Editor, Redding Record Searchlight), Susan Bakke (2015/16 Shasta County Grand Juror), and Ray Frisbie (CGJA Presenter) accepting the awards at the 2019 CGJA Annual Conference in Sacramento, CA.

Every year, the California Grand Jurors' Association (CGJA) recognizes a grand jury for an outstanding report and a publisher for wonderful media coverage of a grand jury. SCGJA is proud to announce that Shasta County is being honored in both categories!

The 2015-2016 Shasta County Grand Jury report "The Quarter Million Dollar Typo - Words Matter" has been selected as a co-recipient for the 2019 Excellence in Reporting Award. Additionally, the Redding Record Searchlight has been chosen to receive the Media Coverage Award, for its coverage of the "Words Matter" report.

Representatives of the 2015-2016 Shasta County Grand Jury and of the Record Searchlight are asked to attend the upcoming CGJA Annual Conference to accept their respective awards!

Congratulations to both the Grand Jury and the Searchlight for a job well done! It is wonderful that the State Association has recognized the significant impact this report had on our community!
