Long Live V!VA Downtown!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, SCGJA found ourselves unable to convene at our longstanding meeting place. In 2021, a wonderful opportunity opened for us. The non-profit group Viva Downtown offered us the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Meeting Hall at 1435 Butte Street. For the past year, SCGJA has been gathering here.

We wanted to acknowledge Viva Downtown in some way for their generosity. At the May 2022 General Meeting, SCGJA was proud to present a $100 donation to Blake Fisher, Program Coordinator for Viva Downtown, as our way of saying, "Thank you!"

Viva Downtown is a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 group dedicated to social, cultural & economic development in Downtown Redding. For over 20 years, Viva Downtown has advocated for and secured civic improvements for the Downtown Redding area. Past project partners include the City of Redding, Shasta Arts Council, Shasta County Historical Society, McConnell Foundation, and Results Radio.
