2020 has certainly been one roller coaster of a ride, and we still have one month to go! Even so, the Shasta County Superior Court, with support from SCGJA, managed to recruit a pool of excellent potential grand jurors for the 2020-2021 Shasta County Grand Jury.
The current grand jury was impaneled (sans the usual fanfare) on Thursday, October 29 by the Honorable Presiding Judge Daniel Flynn. County and city personnel helped welcome the new jurors during the local orientation seminar after the impanelment. The jurors attended the two-day training seminar hosted by CGJA in November. They are, most assuredly, hard at work in their investigations as we move closer to the new year.
This grand jury has ended up with the proverbial short end of the stick, though. Their mission is the same as every year - investigate and report on local government matters within Shasta County. Unfortunately for them, they only have eight months (not the usual twelve) in which to accomplish this task!
SCGJA is confident the 2020-2021 Shasta County Grand Jury will prevail and release a final report that will educate the community, suggest improvements for governmental processes, and highlight exceptional work! SCGJA is proud to support each and every Shasta County Grand Jury term!
